This venue is the Tambotie Floodlands Private Game Reserve situated in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. The reserve forms part of the Nylsvley area.
This area is an internationally renowned RAMSAR site and forms part of South Africa’s largest flood-plain - the 16 000 ha Nyl River Floodplain - that stretches over 70 km from Modimolle to Mokopane.
Our venue is close to the N1, South Africa’s primary national road and only one-and-a-half hours from Gauteng’s major urban centres - Pretoria and Johannesburg.
In the years of high rainfall, as many as eighty thousand migratory water birds converge on the flood-plains. Here up to 420 species of birds have been identified.
This private reserve provides sanctuary for a variety of mammal species, including breeding herds of disease-free buffalo, the rare roan antelope, sable, tsetsebe, golden wilde beest, white rhino and many more.
